Pell Grant is a kind of scholarship that is designed to help low income students to continue their college education. Recently the money funding for Pell Grant has been increased up to $5100 and this in fact is quite helpful for the students that are living on very low income and get no monetary support from their parents as well. When government had designed scholarships for moms, it kept in mind the status and condition of various types of moms and single women.

There are different types of scholarships that are specially intended to help moms go back to school and either continue their education and obtain college degree or acquire some new qualification. Whatever is the case, the main intention of the women is to enhance their standard of living and their status in family and life. Once they increase their education there is chances of increase in the salary and more opportunities regarding new career options also boost up. This ultimately results in improvement in salary and family’s financial condition.

In fact Obama’s stand is very clear in this regard and he is trying to end all wasteful subsidies that are offered to banks and private lenders for student loans. There are different types of student loans that are offered and granted very easily but the problem of repayments stays there and the tension or burden remains intact. But if the scholarships and grants are provided to low income students or stay at home moms so that they improve their education, it will be the best thing.

The most relaxing factor with scholarships for moms is that you don’t have to repay the money and there is no tension of paying it off. It is completely free money and if you qualify and you are offered the amount, the only thing you need is commitment towards your future plans and studies.

As a mother, I know how hard it is to go back to school so I did some research for you.

The present government has taken into consideration the problem of single mothers and has made possible small business grants for women. Government passes the approval for single mothers every year and at the same time small business grants are also approved for needy women. Data reveal that more than 5 million people have been benefited by these small business grants and have used it to start any business or fulfill some personal needs or some have even bought a house.

The amount for small business grants is $100,000 so that women are able to start their business and be economically independent. There are so many women who are divorced or are widows and have children to take care of. These are genuine and need help to start a home business or any small business that they are capable of. This is also important for women, who are school dropouts or have not completed their studies due to any reason, and want to have their own business to support their families. The government has also given away awards to women for presenting any new business idea so that they get encouraged to proceed.

If you want to start your own business and need money and approval for the same, small business grants for women is the right choice for you. Amazing thing about this grant is that you never have to repay them and so not much formalities are required to be fulfilled. Smart women choose this option rather than submit an application for a business loan from a bank. You will have to repay this loan along with rate of interest that will be charged on it. Not only this if your payment is late you will have to undergo many procedures to make it right.

The only requirement to apply for small business grants is that you must be an American citizen and must be at least 18 years old. All you need to do is submit the application with your business idea and your plans of implementing them. You can also find out the different grants that come under this program and look for the best suitable one. Take the help of search engines for this purpose and decide upon what fits in your wants. There are reputed companies that are ready to help you find the most suitable program and you can take their help also, if required. I

The world of entrepreneurship, once evolved among the masculine and the brave has now become a common place among both men and women.

We have seen the tides change and its already far too long since we last heard that this thing is for men and another thing is for women. There no longer is a separation of opportunities, all of us are already playing on the same terrain.

The sad thought though is that there are too few funding resources and help groups for women entrepreneurs. Good funding resources are very crucial especially for women who are just starting out with business. These are rare indeed that is why women tend to resort to using their credit cards, family loans and assistance from friends which in most cases are hardly ever helpful.

But you see, funding for a business is only one of the many problems among women entrepreneurs. They may also be having troubles in building websites, juggling with researches and making press releases for promotions of enterprise. And hey there are also problems in selling one or two of their products and in contacting clients. Though all that may sound difficult, they surely are worth the time of woman entrepreneur.

After all, it is her business she is building in here.

Various organizations and the government has seen all the hardships a woman entrepreneur has to undergo to be able to make it to the supposedly men ’s world. This is why they have provided programs for minority businesses to see what its like being among the greats in the businesses, or at least experience some of their glories.

If you are a woman entrepreneur and is interested in getting grants, the first thing you would want to do is to identify if you are qualified for being given a grant.

The most common qualifications are:
1: Obviously, you should be a female or depending on the program, must come from the minority sector
2: You must own the majority share in your business
3: And your business must show lucrative opportunities for growth

There are a number of government and private agencies that provide grants for women entrepreneurs at various levels.

Say for the federal level, women can undergo self-certification and apply for the Central Contracting Registry database from which many government and private contractors gather to search for small business.

Other programs may be seen on local level where advantages are presented and benefits are granted. Its just the matter of finding them and apply for one that you think you can create your real potentials from.

And because of their own commitment to provide diversified services and opportunities, large corporations are also creating grants for women entrepreneurs. Normally, these large companies were mandated by the federal government to create further services to improve their employment base and to create equal allocations for small business owners.

Well, if you cannot be reached by these options you may always turn to your previous employer and create a market for him, make him your first client. Only, you need to be very careful and see if this would actually pass to your previous boss. If you aren’t tactful enough, you might find yourself facing resignation or losing your job. This might be risky but don’t be too afraid. Most former employers do make outsourcing for their previous workers t help them start create their own businesses. After all, this will provide them with an extra chance to leverage their compliance to their set-aside goals.

Be warned though that the application process for grants may be time consuming and very demanding. Oftentimes, the providers set specific time for waiting periods with regards to the processing of the grants for women entrepreneurs. And sometimes, bureaucracies may even take the toll of having you wait for several months before your certification is released.

And being an applicant, please anticipate unusual questions to pop up. These might include those that you would not normally hear or expect.

Keep in mind also that grants for women entrepreneurs are meant to help you have that break and not to supply you with an unlimited meal vouchers. So be on guard. Many agencies and grant providers may even cut out their services to you out of convenience. Meaning, they need not provide an explanation in doing so. They just do most of the time.

No two grants are exactly the same. The geographic locations of the applicants vary. Some grants are international, some are national, and some are local. The application deadlines vary. Some grants are offered annually, while others are offered quarterly. The number of times that you can apply may also vary. You can apply for some grants several times, yet some grants will only fund you once. Despite these differences, you can significantly increase your chances of securing grant funds from various types of funding sources by adhering to the following guidelines:

1. Be sustainable. Sustainability is one of the more recent buzz words in grant writing. In the past, some programs were dependent upon the same funding sources year after year. This was unfair to new applicants for the same funding sources because the funds were being monopolized by older organizations. It also allowed organizations to become overly dependent upon a single funding source. Some funding sources now require applicants to describe their plan of sustainability. In other words, “How will you sustain (keep your program running) if we never fund you again?” Will you train others to implement your program at their own location (for a fee)? Will you open a business related to the services that you offer?

2. Be able to inform the world about the results of the project. This can be done by your organization or an outside PR agency. If you don’t inform the entire world about your results, at least inform your community. This doesn’t have to be expensive. In the past I have done all of the following and more: distribute a newsletter (online and hard copy), join an association and share at the meetings, place press releases on my website, post flyers throughout my community, and sending emails to our business partners, past and present clients, and personal friends informing them of all current events. Funders want the world to know about them and about the good work they’ve helped you implement.

3. Be willing to collaborate. There are many reasons that funders would prefer that you collaborate. One: Collaborating increases the likeliness that you will not stray from what you said you would do in the grant application. Two: There will be more people working together to accomplish the tasks. Three: More clients will be served by the program. You will also benefit from collaborating because: you will have someone else helping you to recruit participants for your program, you will have someone else evaluating the effectiveness of your program, and someone else will share the burden of securing resources for your program. If you choose the right organization to collaborate with, it can be a win-win situation. Additionally, it could double or even triple your profits.

4. Be prepared to assess the program’s effectiveness. Evaluations help both you and the funder. It is important that you assess the strengths and weaknesses of your programs so that you can operate at your full potential and make any necessary changes. Offering anything less than your best is unfair to both you and your clients. Remember, a lot of agencies are competing for those funds. Therefore, funders want to ensure that they have chosen the best applicant. Outstanding results could lead to an increase in funds offered to your agency.

5. Grammatical errors. I am a witness. It is difficult to notice mistakes in a 5-30 page grant application once you’ve read it several times. If possible, have someone proofread your application before it’s submitted. Use spell check too! I have seen some organizations make very careless mistakes on their grant applications. When possible, put your application away for a day or two before reading it again.

Many grant seekers have excellent program ideas. However, they are still denied funding because of the aforementioned issues. Often this causes them to become discouraged and they do not reapply. Keep applying until you are successful. There is money available. It is waiting for you. I have made many of my dreams come true using funding supplied by the generosity of others; I invite you to do the same.

Foundation Center:

The Foundation Center website lists thousands of available grants, including government grants for women, grants for individuals, grants for small businesses, and many more. The nice thing about their website is it also includes private foundation grants and corporate giving programs in addition to government grants for women. Often it is easier to get private grants for women than federal grants, because there is much more competition for federal/government grants than private foundation grants. If you go to foundationcenter.org you can search their database for free, but to get more detailed information it does cost a bit of money. My course (see the link at the bottom of this article) shows you some ways to access even the detailed information without having to pay high subscription fees. Check out the link at the bottom of this article for this information.

Grants.gov:

Grants.gov is the central place to search for government grants for women. They do not list any private foundation grants, but government grants only. The website is quite self explanatory, but can be a bit confusing even though they’re constantly trying to improve it. If you are going to try to get a government grant through grants.gov, I would recommend you get some guidance. My website (listed at the bottom of this article) has a lot of resources to guide you in a situation like this.

Government Grants For Women Entrepreneurs:

If you are a woman who owns 51% or more of your business, your business would be classified as a “woman-owned business” and may be eligible for additional grant resources. Before you seek these resources, however, you will need to do the following: make sure your credit report is clean, put together a well thought out business plan, and get a third party to certify that you ar ea woman-owned business. The small business administration can do this for you (certification).
